ZYGOTE EVENT OUTSIDE STOCKHOLM

We are proud to announce anther Zygote workshop, proto-performance in a natural setting outside of Stockholm on June 15, 2023. We leave central Stockholm at 11am and you will be back in the city by 5pm. Zygote is project where performance artists, fashion designers, musicians and researchers in foetal development are working together. Zygote is a mobile laboratory that moves between different Swedish urban and natural locations. The work is a collective investigation, where the audience is actively involved in shaping the results.

The process does not result in a final performance, instead the working group conducts a series of ongoing investigations together with different audience groups. We call these proto-performances. This makes the work an ongoing and investigative process. In the Zygote experience a small audience group (6-8 people) travel by minibus to pools, rivers, lakes or to bays of the sea. Here, the audience is invited to “find their way back to” the foetal stage while their bodies are immersed in water. They are led through these experimental water exercises by a choreographer. Together with her they develop new ways of experiencing their own bodies. They do so by investigating movements that the foetus performs during its development in the womb.

If you want to join. Just drop us a line on info [at]  visionforum.eu. We will provide you details on what to expect and what to bring. Welcome!

Zygote is supported by Kulturbryggan.

SPARKLING CONVERSATIONS AT WELD, STOCKHOLM

Sparkling Conversations: Informal conversations on dance and choreography initiated and moderated by Carima Neusser.

This spring we invite you who work with dance and choreography to two intimate dialogue evenings. These evenings start with an artist talk with artists from the international dance field, followed by questions and an open discussion. The idea is that these presentations can lead us into new topics, questions and reflections on our artistic practices and work. The initiative comes from a desire to enrich the dance field with perspectives on dance and choreography that differ from established way of talking about dance and choreography. With the dialogues, we want to create greater artistic diversity and new forms of discussion about dance.

The talks can also be seen as a response to a longing for artistic discussions that can take place collectively and that can strengthen our community as artists and open up new meetings and networks. We want to create a place for fruitful exchanges that focus on art and the artistic directly and without self-censorship. We will discuss everything from dance, choreography, process, the inexhaustible potential of our bodies, the unknown within us and life itself.
We want to initiate meetings that draw inspiration from our artistic visions, desires, reflections and above all our curiosity about the body, dance and choreography.
We shape the evening together!

WHAT WILL BECOME AT GALERÍA LIBERTAD, QUERETARO

Carima Neusser will join in for an evening of performances and talks at Galeria Libertad in Santiago de Queretaro in collaboration with El Dia D on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 7pm (free entrance). She will present a performance based on her continuous research on Embryology. Neusser is looking at how what science knows about the developing human life in utero can be used to develop new forms of dance. It is a fascinating field since the development of the body and its organs are shaped by its own movements. Certain cells in the embryo’s body develop in response to how other cells next to them act. This means that we can really speak of cause and effect in traditional sense, which makes studying embryolgy both relevant and interesting for the dance field.

SENSING LANDMARKS AT THE BERGEN SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

Sensing Landmarks at Bergen School of Architecture

Bergen Arkitekt skole, Sjøgaten 59
October 6 at 6.45 pm
Free entrance

An interdisciplinary group of artists present the performance Sensing Landmarks at Bergen School of Architecture.

Participating: Carima Neusser (Sweden) Yohei Hamada (Norway) John Andrew Wilhite-Hannisdal (Norway) Else Olsen Storesund (Norway) Carola Uehlken (Germany)

Sensing Landmarks brings together dance, visual art, architecture and music with the aim of creating a multi sensorial guided tour that is specific to Bergen School of Architecture´s architecture, history and natural setting. The artists have developed texts, scripts, choreography, music and scenography to guide the audience through an interdisciplinary experience with emphasis on the human senses. The collective performance takes the form of a guided tour and takes its starting point in an investigation into the concept of “Axis Mundi” – also called the cosmic axis, world axis, world pillar, center of the world, or world tree.

Bergen School of Architecture is the site for the guided tour connecting the vertical architecture of the building with the concept of the axis mundi. The tower, the staircases of the building and the sea outside connect to our bodies, our spine and our movements and take us on a journey between heaven and earth.

You will travel by boat to the Bergen School of Architecture from one of the harbours in the Bergen City Center (exact meeting point will be announced shortly.)

The project is funded by: Nordic Culture Fund and Bergen Kommune.

Production by: Vision Forum, Tomorrow’s Art Audience and Ny Musikk Bergen. Special thanks to Bergen Dansesenter and The Bergen School of Architecture.
